Star Wars Event Success
Wallsend father Daniel Coulsey was one of the lucky winners the £1000 Stormtrooper outfit in the Royal Quays Star Wars Event competition held over the Easter. A recent proud father of baby Macey, Dan said: “I love Star Wars and had hoped to get a picture taken with Chewbacca and little Macey at the event, but despite all the people and the busy atmosphere she slept through the whole thing!” I couldn’t believe it when I was informed that I won the outfit, I may even wear it one Friday night in Tynemouth if I can ever mange to sit down in a taxi with it on!”
Dan who works at B&Q in Wallsend was one of the 17,000 people who visited the Star Wars Event at Royal Quays Outlet Centre on Easter Monday to see a galaxy of characters. The event had a special appearance by members of the 99th Imperial Garrison and helped raise much needed funds for the RNLI Tynemouth Lifeboat appeal.
The Event competition had two Stormtrooper outfits to be won, and adult and a childs. The childs outfit was won by 8 year old Stephen Thompson from Clifton near York. Judith Ramshaw, Royal Quays Centre Manager said: “This event exceeded our expectations in terms of popularity and fun for everyone, even the Easter weather over the three days of the event was very good. It was amazing to see so many children come down in Star wars outfits to see their heroes.”
Forthcoming events at Royal Quays on Bank Holiday Monday 3rd May will an exclusive appearance by Iron Man. The sequel to the hit movie Iron Man 2 will be released nationwide on April 30th.
